Some things you may, or may not, like to know...
Today we rode from Rawlins, WY to Dubois WY up Rte 287 about 205 miles.
Yesterday was about 225 miles
This could be the first time in my life that I've consistantly driven at or below the speed limit.
Marco usually rides in front on the left; I ride behind on the right.
My butt is sore (I haven't been on a road trip since the kids were about 2)
All of the other road trips that I've taken before this one were on my old Harley (FXR; purple with flames).
This trip I'm on a brand new Fat Boy low.
The biggest differences between the two bikes - 150 lbs (heavier than the FXR), 7 years older (me), less than 400 miles on the odometer, and a squirmy kid on the back (Tina).
Tina likes to wave her arms with the wind - she looks really cute riding behind Marco.
Tony is easier to ride than Tina because he weighs less and sits still - for me.
Tony likes to ride on Marco's bike at the end of the day so he can look at the GPS.
Today was the first day in history on a road trip that I needed a nap at the end of the day - not used to. sleeping with squirmy kids and I'm still getting used to that extra 150 lbs.
Everyone gets grumpy when the restaurant service is slow.
We'll be in Yellowstone tomorrow.
Things are going way, way better than I could've ever hoped for!
So great to read about your adventure! Just remember, Aunt Lex stands ready to pick the kids up at the airport when they've had enough. It's beautiful here in New Hampshire right now... :)
ReplyDeleteSo far so good, but we are only on day 4. The kids actually are enjoying riding - they haven't even complained. Well, Tina did complain about her butt being sore and Tony did freeze his off...but other than that, all has gone well.
