The forecast was for rain, which I was a little worried about. My windshield works really great when the weather is dry, but in the rain it's really challenging because I've got to look through my rain splattered helmet and the rain splattered windshield. Marco had the great idea to get some Rainex and put it on my windshield. Luckily, we found some at our first gas stop about 5 miles out of Leavenworth.

The road from Leavenworth to Monroe was under construction with numerous sections that were one way, meaning we spent a lot of time waiting. On top of that, it was raining; not too hard, but enough to be kind of miserable.
Tino and Terri waited patiently for us in Monroe, having travelled down from Camono Island to meet us for lunch. It was great to catch up with them - we got to tell war stories about the water treatment plant project we all worked together on in Las Vegas (SNWA).
We were planning to meet up with Evan in Bellevue but with our delay in getting to Monroe, we were afraid we'd miss the ferry if we stopped. It was a good thing we kept going because we got lost twice (we have the idiot version of the GPS), separated once, arrived at the ferry 5 minutes before it was to leave, didn't have our tickets and after a mild panic, had the kids run down to the dock and buy them while we waited in line.
The good news is we successfully made it to Ken and Mimi's; a little worn out but in one piece. It's great to see them - it's been too long! Their house is beautiful with a fantastic view of Puget Sound, plus Mount Rainer and Mount Adams on a clear day. We are hoping for sunshine to see the mountains before we leave.
Hi Guys! A great adventure. Loving the whole family commentary and pictures. Keep them coming! Sounds like a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteWe are having a lot of fun. I'm really happy that Tina and Tony are enjoying themselves and holding up so well. A lot of new places, weather, seat time, and they are hanging in just fine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us on our trip. Let's do a ride in August after we return.
